Apex Wind Energy Acquires BQ Energy
Charlottesville, VA – June 22, 2009 – Apex Wind Energy, Inc. today announced an agreement to acquire BQ Energy LLC., a developer of utility‐scale wind energy projects. BQ Energy develops wind energy facilities located on industrial, military and brownfield sites. The purchase includes BQ Energy’s project development pipeline.

The combined companies have completed development of over $1 billion in wind power facilities in Colorado, Kansas, New York, Texas, Wyoming, and the Netherlands. Their track record includes $22 billion of structured finance transactions completed for wind and conventional energy projects.
Background Information
Founded in 2002 and based in Patterson, New York, BQ Energy’s strategy has been to co‐locate wind facilities on industrial sites. In 2007, BQ Energy was awarded “Best Renewables Project of the Year” by Power Engineering Magazine for development of the Steel Winds project in Lackawanna, New York.
