Apex CEO Mark Goodwin Joins AWEA Board of Directors
Charlottesville, VA – June 4, 2019 – At the recent WINDPOWER industry conference in Houston, Apex Clean Energy President and CEO Mark Goodwin was confirmed to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) board of directors. Goodwin joins the board as AWEA looks to the future of utility-scale renewable energy, with the wind, solar, and storage sectors working more closely to achieve the low-carbon goals of states, utilities, and corporations.
The AWEA board consists of senior leaders from companies representing renewable energy development, utilities, finance, construction, OEMs, and major corporate power purchasers.
“It’s an honor to be elected to serve on the AWEA board by my colleagues within the utility-scale wind industry,” said Goodwin. “AWEA is more vital than ever as we look to expand the industry’s impact on the nation’s transition toward a cleaner, cheaper, more resilient and reliable electric grid.”
Goodwin leads the execution of corporate strategy at Apex. With the company’s core values as a driving force, he has overseen the commercialization of more than 4.4 GW of wind and solar energy projects.
Goodwin also serves on the boards of the American Council on Renewable Energy and Advanced Energy Economy.
